Each day at Woodland Explorers Playschool is full of fresh air, laughter, discovery, and meaningful connection. Our daily rhythm balances structure with plenty of open-ended play so children can learn, grow, and wonder at their own pace.

Here is what our day typically looks like:

·        8:00 – 8:30 a.m. | Arrival, Breakfast & Free Choice
Children are warmly welcomed and encouraged to ease into the day. After washing hands and putting away their belongings, they may choose to enjoy breakfast or dive into inviting centers and open-ended materials.

·        8:30 – 8:45 a.m. | Circle Time & Planning
We gather for songs, yoga, movement, stories, or nature-inspired discussions. This time helps us build community and prepare for a morning of joyful exploration.

·        8:45 – 9:45 a.m. | Uninterrupted Child Exploration
This is the heart of our morning. Children explore centers and learning pods that invite creativity, independence, and collaboration. Teachers observe, support, and engage meaningfully when needed.

·        9:15 – 9:45 a.m. | Morning Snack (Open Format)
Snack is available throughout exploration time. Children are given gentle reminders and can come eat when they’re ready.

·        9:45 – 10:00 a.m. | Clean-Up & Recall
Together we reflect on our play and then transition to tidy our space. This promotes responsibility and shared ownership of our classroom.

·        10:00 – 11:15 a.m. | Outdoor Play & Nature Exploration
We head outside to breathe fresh air, get messy, and connect with the living world around us. Whether it's building in the construction area, hiking our forest trail, or diving into water play, this is a time of wild joy and grounded learning.

·        11:15 – 11:30 a.m. | Large Group Time
This time is used to build a sense of community. Team building activities can help develop social growth, problem solving skills, communication, and cooperation. Children will be given opportunities to make choices and play the role of leader.

·        11:30 – 12:00 p.m. | Small Group Learning
 Teacher will initiate an open-ended activity designed to meet children where they are, that provide just the right level of challenge to help growth in all areas of development.

·        12:00 – 1:00 p.m. | Lunch & Clean-Up
Children settle in for lunch from home, served with milk and conversation. After eating, we brush our teeth, tidy up, and prepare for rest.

·        1:00 – 3:00 p.m. | Rest & Quiet Time
Children relax on their cozy cots for a peaceful reset. After 20 minutes of rest, if child chooses not to sleep, quiet activities are offered such as books, journaling, or puzzles.

·        3:00 – 3:30 p.m. | Rise & Shine + Afternoon Snack
After rest, children freshen up and enjoy a nourishing snack, often outdoors if the weather allows!

·        3:30 – 5:00 p.m. | Free Play, Exploration & Pick-Up
The afternoon winds down with child-led indoor or outdoor play. It’s a gentle close to a full, joy-filled day of learning through nature and imagination.
