Arrival, Breakfast, Free Choice

Children will be greeted upon arrival. They will hang up their backpack, put lunch and belongings away, and wash their hands. Children are then welcomed to choose an open activity, center, or enjoy breakfast. Weather permitting; some mornings may begin outdoors.

Circle Time/Plan

Children will come together to do an activity such as yoga, music, & movement or story time. Children will then be provided a chance to plan for uninterrupted child exploration.

8:30-9:45am

Uninterrupted Child Exploration

Children will be provided open centers and intentional learning pods to explore in their own way. Teacher will be available to encourage cooperative play, be interactive in children’s activities and provide any support needed.

9:15-9:45am

Uninterrupted Child Exploration/Morning Open Snack

Snack will be open and available for 30minutes during uninterrupted child exploration. Children will be given several reminders that snack is available.

9:45-10:00am

Clean up/Recall

Children will come together to recall their work during uninterrupted child exploration. Afterwards, we will work as a team to clean up our classroom.

10:00-11:15am

Outdoor Play

Children will explore our outdoors. During this time, there will be intentional learning pods and materials available to children.

11:15-11:30am

Large Group

This time is used to build a sense of community. Team building activities can help develop social growth, problem solving skills, communication, and cooperation. Children will be given opportunities to make choices and play the role of leader.

11:30-12:00pm

Small Group

Teacher will initiate an open-ended activity designed to meet children where they are, that provide just the right level of challenge to help growth in all areas of development.

12:00-12:15pm

Lunch Time Transition

Children will prepare their rest area, wash hands, grab lunch and find a seat.

12:15-1:00pm

Lunch

Children will have the freedom of how and what they eat from their own lunches. Children will be encouraged to clean up their own space once finished, followed by brushing their teeth, using the restroom, and washing their hands.

1:00-3:00pm

Rest/Quiet Time

Children are asked to quietly rest on their cots for at least 20minutes. If child chooses not to rest, quiet activities will be provided such as books, puzzles, or journaling.

3:00-3:30pm

Rise and Shine/Afternoon Snack

Children will take care of their nap bag, use the restroom, and wash their hands before snack. Weather permitting; once all children are up and ready, snack will be outdoors at the picnic table.

3:00-5:00pm

Child Exploration/Free Choice/Pick-up

During pick-up, children will have the choice to open centers and learning pods either indoors or outdoors.
